About the author of Quran and Science
Emeritus Prof. Dr. tech. Yehia ElMahgary worked as Senior Researcher in the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT), as Prof. of Energy and Environment in Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), as UNESCO Chair Prof. in Alexandria University, as Chief of UNEP Energy Section and as CTA in several UN projects as well as in bilateral projects between Egypt and Finland.
Throughout these years he has been studying The Noble Quran. As his favorite hobbies were Cosmology and Astrophysics, he noticed that some Quranic verses could be better understood in the light of the latest scientific developments. Thus emphasizing that the Noble Quran was brought down to suit every person at any time. Accordingly, he started to write in Arabic the first edition of the book "Quranic Verses in the Niche of Science". This was published in 1990.
In 2020, he started to update it in the form of Powerpoint presentations. Following the Introduction, each Chapter starts with the Quranic verses that will be explained, followed by a scientific background and finally the explanation of the verses under the niche of modern science. He has also included some writings which were the topics of debates he had with Prof. H. Räisänen of Helsinki University and some letters he wrote to distinguished personalities
